[she takes a sip of her coffee, and then swirls the cup lightly, staring at it for a moment, before looking up.]

[She reaches out, and touches his head - softly.]

I am sure...when the game is over, the Witch of Dimensions will take you back to your home. Merely hold out until then.

[He lightly tilts into the touch]

...One normally asks before crawling into a woman's bed, you know.

[He sighs]

If I went to my room I think I might have screamed.

[She's quiet again, though she nods after a moment.]

[She hands her back the thermos, gently.]

I...will ask you to leave, now. I'm...very tired.

Mmhm.

[she downs the last of the coffee, and takes the thermos.]

I just... wanted to know the conditions. I guess I’m curious.

[There’s a slightly muffled quality to his voice, like he’s feeling his way through the conversation in the dark.

But his expression is still open, watching her quietly.]

...I suppose my next question would be if you're talking about wanting to serve before or after the game.

But although Anon's always been pretty good at assessing others, assessing himself is a lot harder these days, for some reason. It feels like he's wandering around a lot more, even when he has footholds and handholds in a couple of places. He stares down at his hands.]

Could I remove myself from the board, in exchange for putting someone else back on it?
